This panel discussion will examine universal healthcare through the lens of military veterans. Many veterans are unable or unwilling to seek care through the Department of Veterans Affairs, which has been under attack and under threat of privatization for over a decade. Attendees will learn about the unique health care needs of veterans, the efforts to save the VA from privatization, and how a universal health care system would reinforce, not replace, the VA care that veterans receive today.

Panel discussion will feature:

Dan Shae - President of Veterans for Peace PDX chapter 72, Portland, OR

Suzanne Gordon - Co-Founder of and Senior Policy Analyst of the Veterans Healthcare Policy Institute, Author of Wounds of War: How the VA Delivers Hope, Healing, and Health to the Nation's Veterans

Valdez G. Bravo, FACHE -US Army Veteran (95-03, OEF), President of Health Care for All Oregon
